Added Info |
Bessie Love was born in Texas in 1898. After her family moved to Hollywood she was spotted by D.W Griffith and given some small roles in his films. She became a popular silent movie star with roles alongside Douglas Fairbanks Snr and William S. Hart. During the middle of the roaring twenties she acted in more mature roles such as The King on Main Street (1925), Dress Parade (1927) and The Broadway Melody (1929) in which she received an Academy Award nomination. By 1931 her career had waned and she moved to England in 1935 where she starred in mainly small roles until 1983. |
